Conference Jacob Palis at IMPA

On the occasion of his 80^th birthday

IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, March 11 – 12, 2020

This meeting is focused on the presentation and discussion of the mathematical work of Jacob Palis, focusing on the new perspectives that his mathematical contributions have opened. This meeting is part of a series of scientific activities celebrating his birthday, including two satellite conferences mentioned below and an International Workshop on Dynamical Systems which will take place at the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste in October 2020. Researchers with a special connection with Jacob throughout his career are welcome to participate, as well his former students and collaborators.
